I've stopped going to other celebrity blog sites because they were completely misogynistic. After I read the comment about Lindsay getting "fat" I was really livid. This is a great idea. I won't be visiting Perez anymore.

Some of you guys are really misinformed about copyright laws. Giving someone "credit" and then lifting their work intact and publishing it without their permission (or payment) for commercial purposes is not legal. Once the PerezHilton site started taking in significant amounts of money it became a commercial enterprise so lifting an entire photograph from TMZ or whereever without payment to the photographer or the site is illegal, whether you say it was lifted from TMZ or not. The video clip where PerezHilton says it is ok to break the copyright law because others do so is very revealing. And legit commercial sites don't do that regularly because they know they will get sued. The PerezHilton site will get sued and they will lose. It has only been worth it to sue him recently and it takes a while for things to work through the court system, etc. But rest assured Time Warner (the owner of TMZ) is not going to continue to let Perez Hilton steal material now that he is getting lots of hits. Or he will just stop and you won't really hear about the reason because it won't be public.
It is kind of irresistable to look at his blog now and then, but he makes me disgusted and feel dirty for even wanting to. He really must hate himself a lot and he is an easy target to hate he is so wretched.

Email Ben Sherman, and all the companies that advertise on his blog and give him freebies, and all the television shows and magazines he's called to do commentary on. Perez statistically gets over 2 millions page impressions every month.
You're not going to make a dent in his page impressions by trying to convert people from his own site or trying to tell people not to post comments.
Do some more research before you think you can actually decrease a website's page impressions that are in the millions.

I'm relatively new to the online celebrity-watch blogs, and I agree that perezhilton.com is one of the nastier sites out there. After reading these comments I'm deleting his site from my favorites. There are plenty of sites with the same stories but without the self-promotion and sleazy comments. Up until a month ago, there was no bigger gossip junkie than myself. Now I find quite a few of them disturbing in the way that they go after these celebs. Some of them are mean and vicious with a few bordering on plain evil.
What makes it worse is that reputed magazines are now blogging like these folks and putting out baseless publications in an attempt to be percieved as equally effective as their internet counterparts. Look at Us Weekly and People's darker side TMZ. Almost on a daily basis, I turn on my computer and go to these sites only to find them attacking the slightest thing these people do with some go as far as attacking innocent babies. Trent comes to mind.
I personally have decided to give these blogs a break and I've sent out a few emails telling these people why I've decided to not click their links and help contribute to their over inflated egos. These are some cold hearted individuals who enjoy 'cutting people down to size' while they're behind a computer. These are not the kind of people I want to support anymore. There's a way to keep up on celebrity news and be responsible and reasonable about it.
